At What England Means to Me we are all in favour of robust and healthy debate. In order to achieve this we have a few rules of procedure and civility.

Each contributor to WEMtM is given the option of either allowing comments or disabling thecomment facility on their essay. Each essay is a personal reflection and we appreciate that not all contributors may wish to invite public criticism of their individual view, or feel that such criticism is appropriate. We ask that you respect this choice. Other essayists may simply not have the time to respond to readers’ comments.

We ask users of the site not to abuse the comments facility to post anti-social, abusive or degrading remarks about any individual or organisation.

Comments that are rude, abusive or inappropriate will be deleted.
